Why a briefcase
Most software asks you to learn its menus. This one asks you to open a briefcase. Everything you can do lives in a pocket you can point at — and the two most important pockets are the two doors: one for what comes in, one for what goes out.

This is how the app greets you: shut. Your original memories are unreadable until you unlock it.

Two doors, one rule
THE GATE watches what comes in. SPY AI CLOUD watches what goes out. You can keep using the cloud AIs you like — the conversation is captured here, on your machine, and nothing is shared until you have seen the exact text and said yes. What you keep private stays private. And with the network off, everything above still works.
What the photo does not show
Eight agents behind the leather
They score every memory, keep the journal, deduplicate at night, check cloud-AI claims against what you actually lived, and guard the exit door. They are described one by one on the Local AI Memory page.
Encryption
Each day gets its own key. Your original memories are unreadable without your master passphrase or your printed recovery key — including by us, because we never have them; the search index keeps only summaries.
Nothing else
No account, no telemetry, no server of ours. The memory never leaves your machine unless you send it, one visible piece at a time.
